A while back, Irish and other news outlets reported that Irish efforts to tackle the housing crisis by restricting short-lets such as AIrBnB ran into an EU roadblock.

So I decided to send a request to the EU Commission under the Aarhus convention access to environmental information regulations requesting “copies of communications between the European Commission and the Irish government in the last year since 1 January 2022 regarding public housing and the regulation of short-lets such as AirBnB.”
